Fish for dinner

A nice easterly wind allowed us to sail just about all the way to New Providence Island today, about 30 nm. We still had a current against us - it seems like it follows us wherever we go - but we made good time nonetheless and enjoyed the thrill of making our way by wind power only.

The big excitement of the day was Chris catching two gorgeous mahi-mahi, one on each fishing rod in the span of 5 minutes. He kept one and let the other loose. We also saw a third mahi-mahi circle the boat as we dealt with the other two. He must have been wondering what carnage was going on up there…
We arrived in West Bay in the mid-afternoon and “dropped the hook”, as we sailors like to say. Yoga on deck while the sun set, then a delicious dinner of pan fried mahi-mahi with rice and coleslaw.
